Sticky Faith – A Practical Seminar for Parents & Grandparents

Why is it that almost 1 out of 2 graduating seniors will pick up their diplomas and ditch their faith after high school? For those young people who remain connected to Jesus, what is it that makes the difference? And what can we do throughout middle school and high school to help teenagers develop faith that sticks into adulthood?

This seminar takes a practical look at Sticky Faith research conducted by the Fuller Youth Institute (FYI) on students and families just like yours, as well as groundbreaking research conducted by Matthew Deprez where nearly 500 grandchildren shared how their grandparents shaped their faith formation. Our hope is that you’ll leave with all sorts of super practical ideas you can use to walk with your children and grandchildren in their faith journey.

Seminar taught by Matthew Deprez.

Matthew has devoted his career to helping the Church connect generationally, intentionally leveraging one generation for the good of another. He is the Church Engagement Specialist at the Fuller Youth Institute, a research organization that’s committed to conducting research and creating resources that help young people fall in love with Jesus and the Church.

Matthew speaks internationally at colleges, conferences, and churches and has over 12 years of pastoral ministry experience as an ordained minister in the Wesleyan Church. He is the author, or coauthor, of multiple books, including Join Generations: Becoming Unashamedly Intergenerational, which is used as curriculum in multiple colleges and universities across North America. Matthew lives in Grand Rapids, MI, with his wife, Megan, and their two adopted sons, Isaiah and Silas.
